On a very simplistic level I understand two works which resonate against each other to be more activating for the viewer than works which are thematically similar or unchallenging in their relationships to each other.

ICO Essentials: The Secret Masterpieces of Cinema consists of six touring programmes curated individually by George Clark, Michelle Cotton, James Harding, Tanya Leighton, The Otolith Group ( Kodwo Eshun and Anjalika Sagar) and Ian White. Launched at Tate Modern, London 18-21 January 2008, the programmes then toured venues throughout the UK. |
