There are many issues involved in co-ordinating and managing an exhibition project. This section looks at planning and managing your project and how to keep on top of the workload and ensure its smooth development.

Exhibition projects bring many unconnected areas together so it is important to be aware of how to work with them all – ranging from venues, artists, press, audience, funders, etc. The section includes examples of agreements with collections or artists for showing and handling their work as well as a project timeline outlining the key stages of an exhibition project.

This page looks at key issues involved in planning and managing your project. It is useful to break down the project in order to understand what it will involve so you can allocate jobs to colleagues or adjust your plan to make the project possible.

In order to help with your projects here is a guide to the basic stages in an exhibition project broken down and explained.
