This Subsection: Audience Development
This Subsection: Marketing & Press
This Subsection: Locality & Community
This section deals with marketing and audience development. There are a limited amount of dedicated spaces for artists moving image work so curators and venues have to find and develop ways to develop and bring audiences to their exhibition/screening. Audiences are often misunderstood and shied away from but they are the main reason to show any work. The areas explored in this section also influence the form and shape of a project. Involvement with audiences and communities is an essential way to shape, develop and enrich your project or programme.

This page explores ways to engage with and develop audiences for your programme or project.

Marketing and press are key ways to communicate with audiences and develop interest in your project.

Engagement with the location of an exhibition and community groups can greatly enrich your project and give it an added relevance.
